Used Vehicle Information Package

To complete your order you will need:

• the vehicle identification number (VIN) or the licence plate number of the used vehicle
• if you ordered a licence plate transfer, the package will include information about the vehicle currently attached to that plate number
• your Ontario driver's licence number or registrant identification number (RIN)

Personal information is collected on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation under the authority of section 2(2) of the Highway Traffic Act. This information is used for the administration of the Ministry's driver, vehicle and carrier programs. The collection of personal information is voluntary and if you choose not to provide it, you may not be able to complete your order.

The cost for a used vehicle information package is $45.00 CAD.

Payment can be made by Visa or Mastercard.

By law, you must notify the Ministry of Transportation within 6 days of changing your address.

If your address has recently changed, you will need to update your address before you order a used vehicle information package online.

A used vehicle information package contains:

• the vehicle details (including the year, make, model, colour, body type, cylinders and power)
• a vehicle registration history
• vehicle lien information
• the average wholesale value of the vehicle on which tax will apply
• bill of sale section

A used vehicle information package is required for most transfers of non-business, passenger and light commercial vehicles. Dealers and salvage dealers are exempt from this requirement.
